Termo Mechero Morro S.A.S. E.S.P. was incorporated to convert stranded gas reserves of the Pauto-Floreña Associated Gas Fields in El Morro (Casanare), Colombia into electrical energy to feed the Colombian National Grid.

The project consists of three (3) x 19 MW gas fired power plants generating power at 13.8kV and delivering power to the Regional Grid at 115kV. Each power plant is made up of 2 x Wartsila 20V34SG engine-generator sets rated at 9.3 MWe and 1 x GE Jenbacher JGC rated at 1.0 MWe. The project also includes the EPC of an 18 kilometer HV transmission line and a 2.0 km 6-inch gas pipeline.

The project reached COD in 1Q 2018 and has been running base load since then. Mechero exited this investment in 3Q 2021.

Since 2016 Mechero has been working with Genser Energy Ghana Limited in the development of gas conditioning applications in the Republic of Ghana. Mechero is currently serving as an integration advisor of the GP Prestea Gas Conditioning Plant (GCP) with a capacity of 200 MMSCFD. Furthermore, Mechero is the EPF supplier of the 25,000 BPD Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Fractionation Module of the GCP.

CONTRACTUAL SCHEMES

EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction Agreements)

Contracts EPC (acronym of Engineering, Procurement and Construction), in Spanish “Engineering, Purchasing and Construction” is also known as “Turnkey” contract the contractor is obliged to the client or contracting, in exchange for a generally fixed price, to design, buy and build a specific facility that he has previously designed.

BOMT (Build, Operate, Maintain & Transfer)

Contracts BOMT (acronym for Build, Operate, Maintain and Transfer) in Spanish “Build, Operate, Maintain and Transfer”. The counterparts are the engineering, construction and end-user companies. It is a figure of financing a project until its productive stage.

PPA (Power Purchase Agreements)

Contracts PPA (acronym of Power Purchase Agreement) in Spanish “power sale contract” The counterparts are the producers (generators) and marketers or end users. The producer guarantees his income to finance his projects and the others obtain long-term energy supply.
